Secretariaplus

Launch: 2007
Client: Profesionalia
Web discontinued

When I still worked at Profesionalia, a company specialised in online communities, we redesigned our star website Secretariaplus. This platform, developed for secretaries and related professions, offered online assistance (legal and practical), education to update their professional knowledge and networking with colleagues and providers via a forum or at the yearly held Secretariaplus conference, Exposecretaria.

The redesign’s goal was — besides adapting its graphic jacket to current trends — a structural reorganisation of the site’s content, from a user point of view. During the information architecture phase, I investigated how old content could be interweaved with new features. Thanks to the loyal registered secretaries, lots of user input was available which formed the website’s fundament all along with the company’s strategy.

‘Esther is one of the best specialists in webdesign that I've had the pleasure to work with. I admire her dedication in respecting web standards and the professionalism of her work. Internet would be a much nicer place if everybody would create webpages like she does.’– Valentin Paul Constantinescu, Web Application Developer Profesionalia

About MissPixel

Global entrepreneur

Based in Barcelona and working in the cloud, I love international flavoured collaborations. I’m fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch, German and French, like to travel and am curious about different cultures. Your project can be discussed in your office enjoying a cup of tea or we can set up a Skype call. There's always a way to communicate!

Skills

In 1998, I earned my bachelors in graphic design in Breda, The Netherlands. Just as the internet bubble formed, I moved to Spain and eagerly studied web design and interfaces on my own. Now, I combine design with teaching, as I love to share my knowledge with students and clients alike. A full work history can be found at MissPixel’s Linkedin profile.

Balance

The joy of work is in the balance: organising and taking care of customers in the user experience field, mathematical challenges in HTML coding and composing bright colourful palettes on screen and paper.
These three perspectives harmoniously come together into one goal: making people happy with useful and beautiful designs. Boy, do I love my job!
